Why did you decide to write a book about yourself?

Hang on a minute, the idea of the book wasn’t mine. It was my friend Matt’s. We met about 10 years ago at a heart-healthy support group. After everybody spoke, he said, “Why are you here, buddy.” I told him it was none of his business. He kept pulling my chain. Finally, I told him, “I had 48 heart procures, a five-bypass, Parkinson’s, and cancer treatments, and a bunch of other stuff.” He tells me I’d be a great role model for one of his books. In no uncertain terms, I told him I wasn’t interested. It’s four years later, and here we are!
