M.G. Crisci honored by Russian Cultural Centre
NEW YORK—Award winning author and renowned businessman M.G. Crisci has received an award from the Friends of the Russian Cultural Centre
in Washington, D.C. for his contributions in promoting cultural understanding and dialogue between Russians and Americans. Crisci, the author of several books including two on Russia—Call Sign, White Lily and 7 Days in Russia was one of one of four recipients to receive the award at the Friends’ annual dinner, along with three Russian dignitaries.
“This is a great honor,” Crisci said. “Anything anyone can do to promote cultural understanding between Russia and America is extremely important. Russians and Americans have lost their way and are handicapped by misconceptions and stereotypes promoted by the media. We have to get over this by encouraging nonpolitical dialogue, which is why the work of the Friends of the Russian Cultural Centre is so important.”
Crisci hopes to promote understanding through his books and by undertaking cross‐cultural speaking engagements and meetings in North America and Russia. He is also encouraging greater personal exchanges between Russians and Americans.
